Kim Kaye - Musical Director Chris Pulleyn - Accompanist
Kim began to play the piano at the age of five, learning first with her mother, before going to the Royal Academy of Music in London to study the piano and cello. After gaining an Honours Degree in Music and a Piano Teacher's Diploma she did a postgraduate year in performance and piano accompaniment. Since leaving the Academy she has mastered playing the flute.
Kim now lives in Meltham and has a busy piano teaching practice as well as being sought after as an accompanist for concerts, festivals and examinations. She joins Jane Robertson in the piano duo 'RO'KA' providing music for weddings and parties etc.
Kim is also the accompanist and deputy conductor for Marsh Ladies Choir. She has recently taken on the position of Musical Director of the Kirklees Choir (formerly U3A Mixed Voice Choir).Having been a member of the Holme Valley Singers for 25 years she has moved through the ranks of singer, deputy conductor and deputy pianist, pianist and now, Musical Director.
Accompanist - Chris Pulleyn
Chris began accompanying at the age of 15 with the Huddersfield Choral Society Junior Choirs.
A graduate from the University of York, Chris then spent 2 years in Japan studying piano with Hiroko Ono.
Chris is in much demand as an accompanist and has performed in recitals and concerts both around the UK and Japan. Since 2013 he has been the repetiteur for Opera North's Childrens Chorus and Youth Chorus. In 2015 he became an Education repetiteur for their growing Outreach Programme. He has also accompanied the Chorus and performed with the Orchestra of Opera North.
As well as being accompanist for Holme Valley Singers, Chris is also resident accompanist for Greenhead College, Assistant Musical Director for Bradford Festival Choral Society, and regularly accompanies at Leeds College of Music, University of Huddersfield, University of Hull and Sage Gateshead.
