| Meet the ChoirNEW ERA FOR SINGERSThe choir's new MD is 30 year old Lipokmar Tzudir who is from Nagaland, India. Lipok, as he likes to be called, is studying music at Sheffield University. He is very passionate about his music and his enthusiasm is already having an effect on the Singers. Lipok already has a string of musical qualifications including Bachelor of Music (conducting and composition) from the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music, Philippines plus a BA (philosophy) from Nagaland University in India. He is currently working for an MA at Sheffield in Ethnomusicology (Intangible Musical Heritage). 
Last September, he was the principal conductor at Incredible India @ 60, a festival held in New York in celebration of India's 60 years' independence and last year, Lipok also received a National Young Achiever's award in India in the creative arts category for excellence in choral music.The talented young conductor was also programme co-ordinator and music arranger for a festival last year organised by the Indian government's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has served as a member of an Indian government council for cultural relations representing choral music and working under the Ministry of external affairs.Now Lipok is keen to work closely with Holme Valley Singers and strengthen its ranks with still more members.
